History
Chateau de Claids was built in the 11th century, on the foundations of a Roman villa, with an eventful past whose traces are still clearly visible and surrounded by 80 hectares. forest and hiking trails. The history
A historic Chateau from the eleventh century, built by William the Conqueror and located on an enclosed private estate of 10 hectares. Chateau de Claids is owned by the Dutch owners. “World travelers settled in Paradise.” Corinne and Ruud have traveled the world and lived in various countries outside Europe for more than 20 years. Lessay (10 minutes): l’Abbaye Sainte-Trinité, a beautiful abbey from the 11th century. During the summer season there are classical concerts, as a precursor to the Annual Fair that has been organized here since the 11th century. Originally set up by the monks as a horse market, this annual fair has grown into one of the largest markets in France with more than 300,000 visitors per year. A true must for gourmands and horse lovers!

The magical Mont Saint Michel is just over an hour’s drive from our Chateau de Claids. If you decide to take the truly breathtaking Mont St. Michel Bay route, it will take approximately two hours, but the memories of this tour will last a lifetime!
Granville (60 minutes) , also known as the St. Tropez of the north. It has a very beautiful, lively harbour, an old city center and is the birthplace of Dior.
